Project Description
Dreamscapes is a mapping of the silent, night-time city; familiar places set with an unfamiliar scene. This was an experimental exercise in capturing and recreating an elusive atmosphere - the uncanny. The choice to emphasize the stillness of the city was deliberate, and done with the hope of creating a more dream-like effect. This project began to approach the uncanny in its sense of danger and desolation. The contrast between a bed (arguably the most intimate, familiar, and vulnerable of objects) with the lifeless night, creates an atmosphere of uncertainty and unfamiliarity.
